Hardwood flooring in Orlando, FL from The Flooring Center Orlando

How many years can I expect hardwood flooring to last?

Take one of the historic grand home tours offered in communities across the country, and you may discover an original wood floor laid a century ago. Since a solid wood floor is re-finishable several times, you may need to sand down the surface of your new floor, but you'll never need to replace it.

Hardwood flooring
styles are numerous at The Flooring Center Orlando in Orlando, FL, so you'll find what you need for your flooring upgrade.

Solid hardwood

Solid hardwood flooring is installed in moisture-free spaces like bedrooms and family rooms to obtain its optimum lifespan. Solid wood planks nailed to a wood subfloor can be finished in the factory or your home by our installers.

Unfinished planks that are sanded, stained, and sealed on-site are ideal for kitchens since boards are placed tightly together before they are sealed, making it difficult for spills to seep through gaps between the floorboards.

Engineered wood flooring

High-quality thick engineered wood floors accommodate one-time sanding when the surface becomes worn and last almost as long as solid hardwood floors. While the surface layer is hardwood, the base layer is usually made of plywood that is situated in a way that allows the flooring to tolerate moisture.

Planks click and lock together to create a floor that floats over the subfloor, so installation on cement slabs and the existing flooring is possible.
