Beautiful waterproof flooring in an Orlando, FL master bathroom

Waterproof flooring is stylish and practical

You don't need to worry about small things like wet towels on the floor or major problems like a malfunctioning dishwasher if you have waterproof flooring in your home. Several types of floor coverings combine style with water repellent practicality. The Flooring Center is a family-owned and operated waterproof flooring retailer that can help you find the best flooring for your lifestyle. We have two showrooms in Orlando and one in New Smyrna Beach and Lake Mary, Florida, that offers a variety of vinyl, carpet, laminate, hardwood, and much more.

Luxury vinyl

Luxury vinyl flooring is thicker than standard vinyl, and its stone, ceramic, or wood designs more closely mimic the ‘real’ product. Standard vinyl comes in rolls and is cut to size while luxury vinyl is available in tiles and planks. Luxury vinyl that has a wood plastic composite (WPC) core or a stone plastic composite (SPC) core is waterproof. The former is made of recycled wood pulp and the latter is composed of limestone powder. All other types of vinyl are water-resistant. Waterproof floors won't buckle, warp, or swell even if they are submerged in water for an extended period.

Ceramic, porcelain, and laminate

Ceramic and porcelain are both made of clay, but porcelain is the better product. It is the most durable type of tile on the market. It is harder and denser and less porous too. Glazed ceramic can hold up to liquid spills that are cleaned up in a reasonable amount of time. But porcelain won't get damaged even if it is wet for a prolonged time. Laminate is made of wood but, with the help of new technology, some brands are waterproof. Spills are trapped on the surface so liquids don’t seep between tiles and damage the floor.
